Fresh Asphalt on St. John’s Road Marks Quiet Progress in Lima

Lima, Ohio — September 11, 2025

A significant road resurfacing project has been completed along St. John’s Road in Lima, Ohio, Crews have laid down a fresh layer of asphalt, and temporary traffic control devices remain in place.

Although the new pavement is already open to traffic, the roadway currently lacks permanent striping. A caution sign stating “NO EDGE LINES” has been placed at the site to warn drivers to exercise extra care, particularly during low visibility or nighttime hours.

There were no visible detours during the resurfacing process, but portions of the road were limited to one-lane access while work was underway. Traffic cones remain along the edges to protect the newly paved surface and prevent vehicles from driving or parking on unfinished sections.

This segment of St. John’s Road had previously shown signs of wear, with cracks and surface degradation common along its length. The recent resurfacing marks a noticeable improvement in drivability, but questions remain about the project’s origin, scope, and timelines.

LimaVoices will continue to monitor this development and provide updates as more information becomes available.
