Lima, Ohio – September 14, 2025
A multi-vehicle collision occurred earlier today at the intersection of Fourth Street and St. Johns Avenue in Lima, Ohio. The incident involved at least three vehicles, including a red Jeep SUV with front-end damage, a silver crossover SUV with visible damage to the driver’s side, and a light-colored sedan positioned nearby that also appeared to be involved.
Emergency personnel from the Lima Police Department, Lima Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene. A stretcher was observed during the response, though the condition of those involved remains unconfirmed.
Firefighters were seen inspecting the Jeep’s engine area, while multiple officers coordinated traffic and engaged with individuals at the scene. A Lima Fire Department ambulance and heavy rescue truck were also present.
This intersection has seen multiple accidents over the past several months, raising questions about traffic safety at this location. With another crash now added to the list, residents may begin asking: what steps will city officials take to prevent further incidents? Implementing a traffic camera or enhanced signage may be warranted before more lives are impacted.
The cause of the crash has not been publicly released.
This intersection is also the site of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred earlier this year. On July 25, 2025, Glendon King, 55, of St. Marys, was killed at the corner of South St. Johns Avenue and East Fourth Street after colliding with two vehicles. A roadside memorial — marked by flowers and a U.S. flag — remains in place as a tribute to his life and a reminder of the ongoing dangers at this crossing.
